Doubles As A Webcam

This unnamed design by Andy Kurovets and Kris Dekeijser is a headphone that doubles as a webcam. That giant crystal on the side is actually a cover hiding the lens. The idea is no matter where you’re listening to music, seeing your friends is just a crystal popping moment away. Would be amazing if someone could write software to see the world as only the side of your head could while listening to music. OR this could just be the next best thing to that Neon Genesis Evangelion costume you’ve been secretly toiling away at in your garage. Don’t lie!

Toshiba Phone

The first model (the K01) comes with a slider QWERTY keyboard, a 4.1-inch capacitive screen, a 1-GHz processor, and a 3.2-megapixel camera. It has a thickness of 0.60 inches and might be available for sale before the end of this year. As for the K02, it is a smartphone with a 3.5-inch resistive touchscreen in a landscape clamshell design and, as a novelty, it also has a secondary LCD display; the K02 has a very similar design to the Nintendo-DS console, but with a more elegant style.

And, lastly but not least, the Toshiba L01 is a tablet-like device with a 7-inch display and a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. In addition, the L01 also can work as a digital photo frame. This smartphone would be available for sale at the end of the current year. Most probably they will come with Windows Mobile 6.5, but it would not be strange if later they can run Windows 7 by doing an update.

LCD Monitor

DoubleSight Displays has unveiled a new line of LCD display screens which are called Smart USB monitors.

They are available in several versions: 7-inch, 9-inch, and 9-inch with webcam. Each LCD monitor is designed to work with any desktop or laptop computer with an USB port (a VGA port is not needed). And, by using a software called DoubleSight’s Display Link, the user will be able to connect up to six Smart USB Monitors to his/her existing PC.

Like most of USB screens, these screens require no video chipset. Besides, they work in both landscape and portrait modes.

You can buy these monitors by using the online DoubleSigh shop. The 7-inch monitor costs $ 139, the 9-inch one costs $ 169 and the 9-inch one with webcam has a price of $ 199.

The 7-inch monitor has a maximum resolution of 800×480, while the 9-inch version supports up to 1024×600 pixels. All the versions muster a 30ms pixel response time and are compatible with Mac OS X and Windows PCs.

Philips V808

One of the biggest electronic companies in the world (Philips) has just officially announced an Android phone called “Philips V808″. This new gadget is mainly targeted to China market.According to some reports, this phone would be marketed by the largest mobile network in a global context: China Mobile (of course, it is the largest mobile network in China, too).The Philips V808 has a 3.2-inch touch-screen, widgets support, Global Positioning System (GPS), music and video player, slot to insert microSD memory cards with storage capacity of up to 8 GB, GSM/GPRS/EDGE connectivity, and a built-in 3.2-megapixel camera which is a good option to take quick and casual pictures that doesn’t require high resolution.

The phone has a very simple design but, however, it is very elegant and stylish.

At this time, there is no official word about the availability of this phone in the rest of the world, but it is possible that it could be marketed in other countries, too. Anyway, it seems this is one of the most important products that Philips will launch at the end of this year, although the exact release date has not been announced yet.
